Jeremy Thibodeaux is the Assurance and Advisory Practice Leader at Ericksen Krentel, where he leads the firm’s assurance strategy, audit methodology, and client service initiatives. He works with organizations to strengthen financial accountability, navigate complex compliance requirements, and use the audit process as a tool for better decision-making.
Since joining Ericksen Krentel in 2008, Jeremy has developed deep experience serving not-for-profit organizations, governmental entities, education organizations, and private companies. He has significant experience with audits performed under Government Auditing Standards and the Uniform Guidance, with a particular focus on nonprofits, charter schools, K–12 education, and organizations receiving public or grant funding.
As Assurance and Advisory Practice Leader, Jeremy is focused on building a modern, high-performing assurance and advisory practice. His work includes advancing the firm’s audit methodology, expanding the use of data analytics, strengthening quality control, and developing advisory-oriented services that help clients better understand risk, internal controls, compliance, and financial performance.
Jeremy is also deeply committed to developing the next generation of professionals. He founded and manages Ericksen Krentel’s Performance and Career Excellence program, a key part of the firm’s team development strategy focused on staff growth, career clarity, leadership development, and retention.
A frequent speaker and writer, Jeremy presents on topics including nonprofit and governmental accounting, single audits, audit quality, risk assessment, education, and the future of the accounting profession. He is active in the profession and community, serving as Board Chair of Élan Academy, a board member at-large and committee member with the Society of Louisiana CPAs, and a member of the Accounting Advisory Board at Southeastern Louisiana University.
A lifelong resident of the west bank of Jefferson Parish, Jeremy lives with his wife, Kelly, and their three children — Liam, Crawford, and Leni.
