Ronnie Dawson Named 2017 New Orleans CityBusiness ‘Money Maker’
Ronnie Dawson, partner in charge of Ericksen Krentel’s Accounting and Audit Services Section, has been recognized among New Orleans CityBusiness’ 2017 Money Makers honorees, which recognizes local professionals for financial achievements in their respective industries and their community impact.
The biggest satisfaction of his work, Ronnie told CityBusiness, is getting that “a-ha moment with a client.
“It’s when the lightbulb goes off,” he said. “When you have given them the knowledge, based on your skills, analytical or otherwise, that gives them what they need to make a decision. That’s a thrill for me.”
As partner in charge of Ericksen Krentel’s Accounting and Audit Service Section, Ronnie Dawson oversees the day-to-day operations of the team of more than 20 accountants in the firm’s accounting and auditing department. As a member of the firm’s executive committee, he is responsible for creating growth strategies that help the firm better serve the needs of its clients and the marketplace. Ronnie also serves as segment leader of the firm’s construction and real estate niches in addition to its accounting and auditing service line.
He is a member of the board of directors for the Associated Grocers and Catholic Foundation, serves as vice chair of Christopher Homes’ executive committee, treasurer of the Associated Builders and Contractors’ and East Jefferson General Hospital Foundation’s executive committees, on the finance committee at St. Charles Borromeo Church and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Society for Louisiana CPAs.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
