Audit Manager

Our firm is currently seeking a professional to join our audit department. As part of our team, you will experience exciting challenges and grow alongside our firm. Candidates should not only have technical expertise and an innovative spirit, but also be friendly, approachable, and possess a drive to exceed client expectations.

Ericksen Krentel prides itself on being a proactive, technology-driven firm. We aim to bring value to our clients throughout the New Orleans area. In fact, we have two locations to best serve clients not only in New Orleans, but in Mandeville as well.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client assignments and projects and delivering a high-quality service. This includes coaching, advising and supporting team members in meeting client and self-development expectations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and supervise multiple audit engagements simultaneously while maintaining client relationships and ensuring overall success of each engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assignment profitability and any risk management issues.
  • Advise and coach team members, provide consistent recognition and encouragement, and set an example by demonstrating high energy levels and enthusiasm.
  • Perform more complicated areas of engagements, including planning, internal control assessments and completion procedures.
  • Review the accuracy and technical compliance of all types of engagements.
  • Support the partner team through business development activities, such as identifying and promoting the development of new services and/or channels to satisfy evolving market and/or client needs.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have 5-7 years of experience in public accounting in a similar role, with an emphasis on auditing Nonprofit and Governmental entities and Employee Benefit Plans.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or master’s degree in a related field and the CPA designation or candidacy is preferred.
  • Must be able to lead and complete all aspects of engagements from planning to completion.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills including the ability to successfully coach, mentor, and empower talented people.
  • Effective and professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.
  • A high degree of professionalism, including the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
