Jim Tonglet began his career with Ericksen, Krentel & LaPorte, L.L.P. in 1989 and has accounting and auditing experience dealing with a wide variety of entities including privately owned small businesses, governmental agencies and non-profit organizations, and industries such as hospitality, healthcare, technology, insurance, retail and manufacturing. 

Jim is a native of New Orleans and resides in Slidell , Louisiana with his wife, Jennifer and three sons.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of New Orleans .  He also attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge .

His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (SLCPA).  He is a member of the Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants and has served as a member of the Uniform CPA Exam Standards Setting Panel and the Uniform CPA Exam Practice Analysis Panel of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jim has represented the Firm as a member of the Greater Slidell Area Chamber of Commerce, the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors’ Bureau and the Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals Association.  He is also a member of the Accounting Department Advisory Board at Loyola University in New Orleans .

Jim is also involved in a variety of community activities.  He and his family are parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell where he serves as president of the parish finance council and as the finance chairman of the annual parish fair.  He also serves on the New Orleans Archdiocesan Advisory School Board.  He has previously served on the board of directors of the St. Margaret Mary Men’s Club and the University of New Orleans Privateer Athletic Foundation .  He is also a member of the UNO National Alumni Association, the Brother Martin High School Alumni Association and the Kiwanis Club of Third District – New Orleans of which he is a past-president.
