Not
only will we assist in the preparation of your monthly, quarterly and yearly financial
numbers, we will also interpret what they mean to the continuation of your
business. In addition, we can help your organization make the most of its internal
accounting system. If you are ready to computerize your manual accounting
systems, we will design and implement them for you. We can tailor your
computerized systems to accommodate your ongoing growth.
We also assist in the preparation of financial statements for business, government, not-for-profit organizations and other entities.
All work is performed in accordance
with standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). As
members of the AICPA, we participate in a peer review process whereby another independent CPA
periodically reviews our Accounting and Auditing practice to see if our practice complies with those
standards. The latest report on our practice was issued in August 2003 and is available upon
request.
Financial statements are accompanied by either a
compilation, review or audit report. Ericksen, Krentel & LaPorte offers other specialized
services in situations where a closer look at accounting records is required or advice on accounting
controls is sought.
Compilations
Compiled financial statements are prepared without audit
or review procedures and are generally recommended where creditors and others do not require
assurances from the CPA.
Reviews
Some businesses require reviewed financial statements. For those statements we perform certain
analytical procedures and make inquiries of management. Reviewed financial
statements are recommended where creditors and others need limited assurances that financial statements are
presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles with full disclosures, but
where an audit is not required.
